Christopher Pinchbeck, the younger, invented this type of candle snuffer in 1776 to safely extinguish a flame. Back when a wick was not self-consumable, a snuffer of this fashion would double as a wick-trimmer, both extinguishing the flame and depositing the blackened portion of the wick, into the little box.

Size - 16cm x 6cm

This is a pre-loved item which will show signs of age and use, the uniqueness of every piece should be celebrated. This may include a tarnished finish, small dents and general marks from years of wear and tear. Please inspect each piece's images to get a feel for its quality and condition.
